Paella Party
My grandma and Keith had a paella party for Keith's work friends so Taylor, her boyfriend Michael, and I went to help cater the dinner. In the photos above from left to right, top row: asparagus with garlic aoli, chocolate dipped strawberries, oven roasted paprika and sea salt almonds bottom row: churros con chocolate, Chloe helping in the backyard, Paella. There was a ton more food than I got photos of. We also made bacon wrapped dates and figs, fried calamari, shrimp, and a huge salad bar with every topping you can think of. Somehow I wound up being bar tender for the night; aparently I make a mean lemon drop! We pulled it off without a hitch, minus the burns on my arms from frying the churros hehe. It was a great event and so fun to be in the kitchen with my Mimi!

Mouse Kitchen Gadget
If you ever need an idea of a gift for me (assuming you love me so much that you would ever consider buying me something) here is a treasure I want sooo badly but could never justify buying myself.
The Mouse Hot Head Pot Holder
Amazing, I know.

Visalia
Yesterday, my mom, Chris, and I headed up to Visalia to visit my grandma and her man Keith. We ate sooooo much delcious food. Our first stop was at a restaurant called Tommies where we all had an afternoon cocktail and had a great lunch. After walking around a bit Chris decided he had to try something from Smitty's Gourmet Hot Dogs. We went to a really neat truck stop/ general store that had all sorts of cheeses, nuts, olives, candies etc. There is where we found that gigantic tree house you see above. Chris and I climbed to the very top floor and took a picture of us inside the house. It was really fun! After that we headed out to Hanford and had ice cream at Superior Dairy. One scoop of ice cream is plenty for 4 people. (Once I get the picture of the ice cream Chris took on his phone I will post it) It was nuts! Once we got home Chris and I hoped in the kitchen with my grandma and had a wonderful time making dinner all together. We'll have to go back soon for more food, oh and to see family too I guess... :)
P.S. As with all the pictures on my blog, if you click on the photo it will open up in a new window much bigger so you can see it better
